Lead Electronics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to own the design, development and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept through to production. You will work within a structured phase‑gate process, ensuring robust, compliant hardware for harsh environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and support mixed electrical/electronic systems, including analogue, digital, microprocessor, FPGA and power‑electronics circuits.
• Define processes, specifications and procedures that enable efficient design and manufacture of hardware.
• Conduct technical reviews of supplier capabilities and facilitate source selection.
• Develop functional and physical design requirements to create an integrated architecture.
• Perform circuit simulation, analysis, testing and evaluation, and produce comprehensive technical documentation.

Required profile

• Formal electronic qualification (HNC/HND/BEng).
• Proven experience in electronics hardware design and electrical product development for harsh environments.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout (preferably Altium) and IPC standards.
• Knowledge of EMC considerations at product and PCB level.
• Familiarity with Defence/Military standards, safety and quality processes.
• Ability to support assembly, integration and test activities.
• Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
