Lead Engineer, AI Platforms

About the role

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is looking for a Lead Engineer, AI Platforms to take ownership of the core engineering capabilities behind secure, scalable and AI-enabled digital products. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership: defining architecture and best practices, guiding teams through design and implementation, and embedding AI capabilities into production systems. It is a Manager-level position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of secure, scalable backend and frontend systems.
• Define architectural direction, coding standards and development best practices.
• Plan and deliver features together with product, design and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers, run code reviews and guide technical decisions.
• Improve deployment, monitoring and operational processes.
• Lead the integration of AI capabilities, including model deployment and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership.
• Experience leading AI feature development or integrating ML models into production systems.
• Strong understanding of secure coding (e.g. OWASP principles).

Required skills

• Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST APIs and MongoDB.
• ReactJS, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• CI/CD, Git workflows and automated testing.
