Lead Enterprise Architect

About the role

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect to support the Principal Architect for Command and Control (C2). You will help shape and influence C2 systems across the defence enterprise, ensuring that technology aligns with military needs and drives digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop reference architectures for C2 and Targeting to ensure coherence across the organisation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and enterprise teams to identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide leadership to direct reports and across the enterprise.
• Conduct horizon scanning for emerging influences or risks.
• Guide the overall direction of business and digital capabilities to support long‑term strategy delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise architecture within large, complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of command and control processes and military targeting workflows.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and technical teams.
• Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.
