Lead Housing Support Officer

About the role

The Lead Housing Support Officer will oversee a team delivering high‑quality accommodation support across Lancashire. You will mentor staff, manage complex cases and help shape service improvements while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of Housing Support Officers through supervision, mentoring and performance development activities.
• Provide specialist housing advice to participants and colleagues, ensuring accurate and effective support.
• Manage a small caseload of complex accommodation cases, helping individuals secure and retain suitable housing.
• Deliver workshops and practice‑development sessions to raise team capability and service standards.
• Conduct case reviews, audits and quality checks to meet contractual requirements and KPIs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners and external housing providers.
• Support the Accommodation Team Manager in driving consistency, quality and best practice across the service.
• Monitor standards through observation, coaching and feedback, while maintaining accurate records.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a housing or accommodation role with solid knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Familiarity with the Criminal Justice System is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to travel flexibly across the region.

• IT literacy.
