Lead Java Developer – Hybrid (Glasgow)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to head a high‑performing development team delivering enterprise‑grade web applications and micro‑services. The role is based in Glasgow with three days on‑site and the remainder remote, offering a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a Java development team, collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Testers and other stakeholders.
• Design, develop and maintain enterprise web applications and micro‑service architectures.
• Produce high‑level design and architecture artefacts, ensuring alignment with solution standards.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, performance optimisation and cloud deployments.
• Champion best practices across development, testing and delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading development teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong client‑facing experience and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Experience delivering high‑quality, scalable Java solutions.

• Competitive daily rate of £377 (outside IR35).
• Hybrid working model – 3 days on‑site in Glasgow, the rest remote.
