Lead Java Developer – VP Level

About the role

Citi is looking for a Lead Java Developer at VP level to join its Unified Fixed Income Trade Processing (FITP) team in London. You will help evolve a high‑volume trading platform that processes around 200,000 transactions daily and supports more than 3,800 users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Guide a team of developers to deliver new features and maintain existing services.
• Drive the migration of monolithic components to smaller, service‑oriented architectures.
• Implement and optimise fully automated CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery cycles.
• Collaborate with trading, sales, and middle‑office stakeholders to ensure the platform meets real‑time risk and position requirements.
• Participate in performance reviews, hiring decisions and other personnel duties.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading Java development teams in a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of fixed‑income trading workflows and market data integration.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and influence technical direction.
