Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the mechanical design of composite turbomachinery for aerospace engines. The role supports next‑generation commercial platforms and focuses on APU, turboprop and turbofan product lines within Honeywell Aerospace.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the lead engineer for composite turbomachinery design and development, guiding architecture and resolving technical issues.
• Coordinate assignments for designers and collaborate with program leadership, project managers and analytical teams.
• Present design concepts and progress to internal stakeholders and ensure milestones are met.
• Drive initiatives that reduce cycle time and cost while adhering to design requirements and best practices.
• Mentor and coach less‑experienced engineers throughout all phases of product development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design of aerospace turbomachinery, particularly composite components.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working on APU, turboprop or turbofan engine programs.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction and presentation.
