Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and development of innovative machinery and automation solutions for a global engineering business. You will lead projects from concept through to manufacture, delivering practical engineering solutions with real‑world impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Develop machinery, automation and manufacturing solutions.
• Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, suppliers and project teams to deliver practical engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering or product development.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM).
• Background in machinery, automation, robotics, fabrication, welding or special‑purpose equipment.
• Degree qualified or time‑served with relevant engineering experience.
