Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Smart Managed Solutions is recruiting an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer for a high-profile contract in St Paul's. The position is Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, and involves keeping environmental conditions and critical building systems maintained to the highest standard through planned and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown work on all mechanical systems, including HVAC, hot and cold water systems and generators, and fault-find using graphical and alarm data
• Ensure routine PPM is carried out on all mechanical plant according to site task schedules and asset lists
• Complete and submit paperwork for reactive and breakdown tasks and ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs
• Keep plant rooms locked, clean and tidy, and supervise and monitor subcontractors' work on site
• Maintain good relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, safety procedures, method statements and risk assessments, and promote safe practice with correct PPE

Required profile

• Formal training in a mechanical engineering discipline such as HVAC or plumbing to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2
• 2+ years' experience in a similar role
• Basic electrical knowledge is desirable
