Lead Oracle Applications Engineer

About the role

Lead the engineering of critical public‑sector pension systems, overseeing the development, support and continuous improvement of the Equiniti Oracle‑based application suite. You will combine hands‑on technical leadership with modern DevOps practices to ensure high availability and performance for mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, support and maintenance of Oracle Applications supporting the Pensions Compensation Programme.
• Drive production support, incident resolution and root‑cause analysis.
• Manage application releases, deployments and change activities using Azure DevOps.
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (YAML and Classic) and automate build, test and deployment processes.
• Oversee application patching, upgrades and environment management.
• Work with complex datasets to deliver reporting, analysis and data fixes.
• Enhance monitoring, logging and automation capabilities to improve system stability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the engineering team.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Oracle Applications and deep knowledge of RDBMS and SQL.
• Proven track record supporting and maintaining production‑grade applications in high‑availability, business‑critical environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (both YAML and Classic).
• Solid understanding of release management, application patching and environment lifecycle.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
