Lead Painter / Paint Manager – Aviation Components & Aircraft

About the role
We are seeking a Lead Painter / Paint Manager to join our aerospace MRO team in Cranleigh. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality paint repairs, refinishing and interior touch‑ups on aircraft components, ensuring every finish meets the strict safety and performance standards of the aviation industry.
Key responsibilities
- Perform paint repairs on aircraft components, including corrosion treatment, surface preparation and paint blending.
- Carry out interior paint touch‑ups on panels, trims and fittings.
- Follow technical drawings, maintenance manuals and detailed work instructions.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment such as spray guns and personal protective equipment safely.
- Ensure all work complies with aviation safety regulations and internal quality standards.
- Coordinate with planning and customer MRO teams to deliver work packs on schedule.
- Document all work in accordance with maintenance procedures and store materials with proper certification.
Required profile
- Proven experience in aircraft or component painting, refinishing or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of paint systems, application techniques and surface preparation.
- Familiarity with aerospace safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality finishes.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
