Lead Product Designer

About the role

Monzo is looking for a Lead Product Designer to shape the future of its banking products. Based in London with hybrid flexibility, you will guide design squads to create intuitive, human‑centred experiences that simplify money for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Own complex, ambiguous design challenges and turn them into scalable solutions that improve the customer journey.
• Define and deliver large‑scale projects that align product strategy across the business.
• Craft compelling product visions, principles and direction to inspire cross‑functional teams.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance ideation, analysis, prototyping and production workflows.
• Elevate visual execution, including motion, interaction and mental‑model clarity.
• Contribute to the design system, tooling and processes to enable design at scale.
• Mentor designers, share work broadly and champion design excellence across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading product design teams in fast‑moving, consumer‑facing digital products.
• Strong ability to navigate complexity and communicate clear design rationale.
• Passion for creating “magic moments” that make banking feel human.
• Track record of influencing product strategy and collaborating with research, product and engineering.
