Lead RF Design Engineer – £75,000 + Bonus

About the role

We are looking for a Lead RF Design Engineer to join Akkodis in Hertfordshire. The role offers a competitive salary of £75,000, bonus and excellent benefits, with a hybrid working model (typically three days on‑site).

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and provide day‑to‑day technical guidance to a team of RF engineers.
• Own complex RF design projects from concept through to delivery.
• Plan, coordinate and execute engineering work packages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative RF and antenna solutions.
• Drive technical excellence and best practices in design, testing and validation.
• Ensure projects meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering complex RF design projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience leading technical teams or engineering work packages.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to motivate, develop and support high‑performing engineering teams.

Required skills

• RF circuit design (30 MHz – 30 GHz), including LNAs, HPAs, filters, local oscillators and synthesizers.
• Modulator and transceiver design.
• Analogue and digital electronics, power‑supply design and integration.
• Microwave Office, HFSS and other RF/antenna simulation tools.
• Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product realisation.
• Project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6 (advantageous).
