Lead Software Engineer – EQ GCT Management

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design and delivery of innovative trading and data platforms for its EQ GCT Management team in London. You will shape the technology roadmap, champion modern engineering practices, and mentor a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and troubleshoot high‑performance software solutions using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, React and Kafka.
• Define and execute the technology roadmap for next‑generation data, analytics and automation platforms.
• Build and optimise data pipelines, analytics workflows and reporting solutions with Python, Databricks and Spark.
• Develop and maintain web‑based applications and dashboards using modern web stacks (React, Angular, etc.).
• Ensure data quality, security, lineage and governance across all platforms.
• Lead adoption of AI, machine‑learning and advanced analytics for real‑time trade processing.
• Identify and automate recurring issues to improve operational stability.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, preferably in financial services.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, set technical direction and deliver complex projects.
• Experience with Agile development, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Lambda, ECS, EC2) and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform).
