Lead Software Engineer – Equity Edge Structuring & Trading

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the development of risk aggregation and hedging platforms for its Equity Edge Structuring & Trading team. You will work within a Scrum team, delivering high‑impact features and guiding technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Own delivery of value‑add activities as part of a Scrum team.
• Design and implement new features for risk aggregation and hedging using React and Java.
• Set best‑practice standards for automated testing, platform frameworks, and the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior developers and act as a technical point of contact.
• Collaborate with frontend peers on code reviews and reusable component libraries.
• Work closely with Trading, Sales, Quantitative Research, UX, and other technology teams.

Required profile

• Commercial experience with Java and designing scalable micro‑services (RESTful).
• Strong knowledge of server‑side technologies: Spring/Spring Boot, ActiveMQ, Kafka, Maven/Gradle, JUnit and mocking frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with React, React Testing Library, Cypress, and automated testing in a commercial setting.
• Expertise in relational and No‑SQL databases, JVM performance analysis, profiling, heap‑dump/thread‑dump analysis, and GC tuning.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), application resiliency and security.
• Preferred experience in investment‑bank or finance technology and leading agile delivery teams.
