Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack, Java & React

About the role

Join JPMorgan Chase’s Commercial & Investment Bank Technology team in Glasgow as a Lead Software Engineer. You will guide an agile squad to design, build and operate secure, high‑performance full‑stack solutions that power critical client‑facing services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver end‑to‑end Java/Spring Boot microservices and React/TypeScript user interfaces.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements through production support.
• Lead architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and security, resiliency and performance goals.
• Implement event‑driven streaming solutions with Kafka, including topic design and schema management.
• Drive operational stability by leading incident response, root‑cause analysis and automation initiatives.
• Promote the use of enterprise‑approved AI‑assisted engineering tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software development teams in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
• Strong judgment for designing secure, scalable systems.
• Ability to collaborate with product owners, architects and cross‑functional stakeholders.
