Lead/Principal DevOps Engineer (Enhanced DV Clearance)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead or Principal DevOps Engineer to join a consultancy delivering high‑impact solutions for national security clients. The role is based in Manchester and requires an active Enhanced DV clearance. You will work on mission‑critical projects, shaping infrastructure and delivery pipelines for sensitive environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain highly available, secure cloud and on‑premise platforms.
• Lead SRE and DevOps practices across multiple project teams.
• Drive automation through CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and maintain the Enhanced DV clearance requirements.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience as a DevOps Engineer with leadership responsibilities.
• Active Enhanced DV clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Strong communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Manchester or commute regularly.
