Learning Mentor – Teaching Assistant (Full/Part Time)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Mentors to support teaching staff across Reach South Trust/Transforming Futures Academy. The role is temporary, covering short‑term absences and helping students of all ages, including those with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with lesson delivery and set‑up resources.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils needing extra help.
• Implement individualized education plans and accommodations for SEN students.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote an inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and support professionals to ensure smooth classroom operation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar support role (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting student learning.
• Flexibility to work across different year groups and settings.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a car.
