Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 Support in East London

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with moderate to mild special educational needs, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia and behavioural challenges. This full‑time, temporary position runs until the end of the school year with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised support to designated students, following individual education plans.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and classroom activities for SEN pupils.
• Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours in a supportive manner.
• Monitor student progress and report observations to senior staff.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.

Required profile

• Experience as a teaching or learning support assistant (primary or secondary settings).
• Familiarity with a range of SEN conditions such as ADHD, autism and dyslexia (desirable but not essential).
• Reliable, punctual and committed to the role.
• A genuine passion for supporting learners.
• Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
