Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Support)

About the role

We are looking for a confident, resilient and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with Autism (ASD) and ADHD in a Brent‑based primary school. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to make a real difference in a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one assistance to help the child access the curriculum and reach their potential.
• Implement calm, consistent behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation.
• Adapt learning activities to the child’s individual needs in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Support transitions, sensory needs and daily routines to ensure a safe and settled learning environment.
• Encourage positive social interaction, independence and confidence throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Patient, resilient, calm and proactive with strong boundary‑setting skills.
• Experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD, preferably in a primary school setting.
• Knowledge of sensory regulation, behaviour support and de‑escalation techniques.
• Reliable, punctual team player committed to daily positive impact.
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs and willingness to develop further SEND expertise.
