Learning Support Assistant - Behaviour Support (Mainstream School)

About the role

A mainstream school in Llandeilo is looking for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to support pupils who may display challenging behaviour and need extra emotional and behavioural support to engage positively in their learning. The role is on site, paid at £90 to £100 a day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with challenging behaviour
• Help pupils manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom
• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Support pupils to stay engaged in learning and access the curriculum
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in a school or similar setting
• Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Understanding of behaviour as communication
• Ability to follow behaviour support plans and school policies
