Learning Support Assistant – Flexible school roles

About the role
Join a supportive school environment in Yate and help children with additional needs thrive. You will work either full‑time or part‑time, choosing the schedule that best fits your life while making a real difference in pupils' confidence and progress.
Key responsibilities
- Support learners with SEND (SEMH, ASC, MLD, SLD and other needs) in one‑to‑one or small‑group settings.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing independence.
- Create a calm, positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to tailor support strategies.
- Use patience, empathy and creativity to help each student succeed.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or vulnerable adults in school or community settings.
- Patient, caring and adaptable attitude.
- Confidence supporting a range of special educational needs.
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check (or already hold one).
