Learning Support Assistant – Flexible Supply (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to provide flexible, short‑term support across specialist education settings in the South East of England. You will work directly with pupils who have SEMH needs, EHCPs, and challenging behaviours, helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group support to students in PRUs, alternative provision, and SEN departments.
• Implement tailored strategies to address emotional, social and behavioural challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers and senior staff to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of support sessions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in PRUs, SEN, alternative provision, youth work or similar settings.
• Calm, resilient approach with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Confidence supporting young people with emotional needs and challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Passionate, caring and enthusiastic about helping learners succeed.
