Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist educational team in Stroud. The role supports high‑needs learners aged 16‑25, helping them develop independence, self‑care routines and confidence as they transition to adulthood.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one, in‑class or out‑of‑class support to students to achieve their EHCP milestones and vocational goals.
• Work closely with teachers to adapt and differentiate curriculum resources and support students during lessons and community outings.
• Record support interactions and maintain statutory records for EHCP annual reviews.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people with additional needs (ASD, SEMH, sensory or learning difficulties) in an educational, health or community setting.
• Graduates with a strong interest in special education are also welcome.
• Resilient, proactive and passionate about helping students, with a willingness to learn.

Required skills

What we offer

• Term‑time only contract (38 weeks) with flexible part‑time or full‑time hours (minimum 3 days per week).
• Hourly rate of £17.50 paid via umbrella.
• Full training in SEND support, behaviour regulation and system tools.
• Opportunity to progress to a permanent role within the wider educational group after a full academic year.
