Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Full‑Time

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Wickford is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its inclusive team. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their potential in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
• Encourage pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and classroom organisation.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and parents as required.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, patient and nurturing approach.
• Desirable: previous LSA or teaching assistant experience, SEN experience, Level 2/3 TA qualification, or a degree in Education, Psychology or related field.
