Learning Support Assistant – Part‑time (Apprenticeships)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Learning Support Assistant to join Hertford Regional College’s Apprenticeship Team in Broxbourne. You will help learners with identified learning differences access the college environment, providing academic, pastoral and communication support. The role is part‑time, term‑time only, and delivered through a temporary agency arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group academic support to SEN learners.
• Offer pastoral guidance and promote independence among students.
• Facilitate clear communication between learners, staff and external partners.
• Work across campuses and departments as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and support activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting SEN learners, preferably in further education.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Enthusiasm for fostering student independence and well‑being.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of the learning experience.

Required skills

• £16.00 per hour (including holiday pay) on an ongoing temporary contract.
• Work hours: 9:00 am‑4:30 pm with a one‑hour lunch break, 2‑3 days per week.
