Learning Support Assistant (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking three Learning Support Assistants to join Oaklands Catholic School in Waterlooville on a part‑time, term‑time basis. The role starts on 1 September 2026 and involves supporting pupils with special educational needs across the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑class support to students with additional or specific learning difficulties.
• Collaborate with teachers, heads of department and other support staff to adapt lessons and resources.
• Assist with administrative duties related to SEN documentation and quality assurance.
• Contribute to the delivery of the curriculum in subjects such as maths and science where specialist support is required.

Required profile

• GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
• Strong commitment to teamwork and the ethos of a Catholic school (faith background not mandatory).
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children and young people.

Required skills

• Basic numeracy and literacy (GCSE level).
