Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Crosby)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in Crosby. The role supports pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary age range, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to help children access learning and achieve their targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEND.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Monitor and record progress towards individual learning goals.
• Support behaviour management and promote a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties.
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviours.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
