Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

Aspire People is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join primary schools as Learning Support Assistants from September 2026. The role is open to candidates with experience working with children in any setting, even without a formal teaching assistant qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils within the classroom, providing 1:1 and small‑group assistance.
• Assist with reading, writing and maths activities.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional needs.
• Help children stay engaged and encourage confidence, independence and social development.
• Promote positive behaviour, maintain classroom routines and work closely with teachers and support staff.

Required profile

• Recent experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
• Confidence working with diverse personalities and needs.
• Genuine interest in primary‑school education and commitment to safeguarding.
