About the role
Join a vibrant four‑form entry primary school in Barking & Dagenham as a Learning Support Assistant. You will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to help Key Stage 1 pupils access the curriculum and develop positive peer relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored one‑to‑one and small‑group support for children with SEND and EAL needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning activities and ensure inclusion.
- Assist pupils in developing healthy social interactions and confidence.
- Lead structured curriculum sessions and interventions for learners with speech, language or autism‑related challenges.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a learning support or teaching assistant.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Patience and an understanding that children progress at different rates.
- Solid knowledge of learning, speech and language delays.
- Commitment to recognising each child’s strengths.
Required skills
- Familiarity with strategies for supporting autism, speech and language delays, and EAL learners.
