Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Term Time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in South Leeds. This full‑time, term‑time position starts in September and offers the chance to make a positive impact on pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils across the primary age range.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
• Support children with additional learning needs and SEND requirements.
• Promote positive behaviour and a nurturing classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Assist pupils during lessons, break times and school activities as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or educational setting.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
