Learning Support Assistant – Primary Schools (Cambridge)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join primary schools in the Cambridge area from September 2026. You will work directly with pupils who have special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, providing tailored support under the guidance of classroom teachers.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils with SEN/SEMH.
- Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Follow the school’s safeguarding and behaviour management policies.
- Work the set hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Required profile
- Experience working with children who have SEN or SEMH is essential.
- Previous teaching assistant or learning support experience is highly desirable.
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and two professional references.
