Learning Support Assistant – Primary SEN School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Dunstable. The role focuses on supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and offers a pathway from a temporary contract to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of SEN on a 1:1 and small‑group basis.
• Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and parents to meet individual learning needs.

Required profile

• Experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEN, or a genuine passion for working with pupils with additional needs.
• Caring, patient and positive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
