Learning Support Assistant – Primary (Temp to Perm)

About the role
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a primary school in rural Horsham. The role supports pupils with special educational needs (SEND) and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for SEND and SEMH pupils.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
- Engage in active play on the floor and safely undertake holds when required.
- Attend the Monday education meeting until 5 pm.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting primary‑aged children with SEND or SEMH.
- High energy and physical fitness to participate in active play.
- Ability to work the set hours (8:30 am‑4:00 pm, Monday extended).
- Commitment to a temporary‑to‑permanent pathway.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required.
