Learning Support Assistant – Psychology & Criminology Graduate

About the role

We are seeking recent Psychology or Criminology graduates to join a secondary school in Camberley as Learning Support Assistants. You will work directly with vulnerable children who have social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them feel safe, empowered and capable of succeeding.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning experiences.
• Provide behaviour and pastoral support to students.
• Build robust, trusting relationships with pupils, both one‑to‑one and in small groups.
• Identify risks and needs, escalating concerns where necessary.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
• Participate in staff meetings and complete required CPD.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Psychology or Criminology.
• Passionate about restorative approaches and supporting vulnerable children.
• Local to Camberley or able to commute.
• Caring, compassionate, good listener with strong interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work one‑to‑one and in small groups.
