Learning Support Assistant – Psychology Graduate (SEND)

About the role

We are looking for a recent Psychology Graduate to join a vibrant Special Needs School in Dartford as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This full‑time, temporary position starts in September 2026 and offers a solid foundation for a career in education, therapy or educational psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with SEND.
• Assist with sensory activities that promote engagement and development.
• Prepare and organise learning resources and materials.
• Deliver constructive feedback to teachers and parents regarding pupil progress.
• Work closely with children who have autism, severe learning difficulties and other complex needs.

Required profile

• Empathy and patience when interacting with pupils.
• Flexibility to adapt support style to diverse learning behaviours.
• Strong communication skills for building rapport with staff, parents and students.
• Resilience to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and a desire to develop professionally.
