Learning Support Assistant (Psychology Student) – Primary & SEND Schools

About the role

This position is designed for current psychology students who want hands‑on experience in primary and SEND schools. Working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will help deliver personalised learning and support the development of pupils with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups.
• Assist with sensory activities that promote engagement and development.
• Prepare resources and materials to enhance classroom learning.
• Offer feedback to teachers and parents on student progress.
• Work closely with pupils who have autism, severe learning difficulties, or other SEND requirements.

Required profile

• Empathy and patience when interacting with children.
• Flexibility to adapt support style to different learning needs.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with staff and parents.
• Resilience to stay positive in challenging situations.
• Genuine commitment to supporting children with SEND.
