Learning Support Assistant – Pupil Referral Unit

About the role
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Greenwich. You will help children with challenging behaviours, mental health needs, and SEMH requirements engage with their education, regulate emotions, and manage behaviour.
Key responsibilities
- Support small groups of pupils in classroom and therapeutic activities.
- Assist pupils in developing emotional regulation and appropriate behaviour strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEND specialists to deliver tailored learning plans.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment within the PRU.
Required profile
- Experience working with individuals who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to motivate disengaged learners.
- Experience supporting children or adults with disabilities.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and an innovative approach to support.
