About the role
Engage Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Hove, Brighton. The role involves one‑to‑one support for pupils with diverse needs, including Autism and ADHD, and offers a pathway into a teaching career.
Key responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students aged 11‑16 in classroom and learning activities.
- Assist with behaviour management and promote a positive learning environment.
- Build professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Support the delivery of the national curriculum under the guidance of teachers.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress reports.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- Ability to manage behaviour confidently and sensitively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a fun yet firm presence.
- Interest in pursuing a teaching career or further education in SEN support.
