Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to join an excellent secondary school in the Liverpool area. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, temporary placement supporting pupils with additional needs. You will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to students with additional needs, helping them engage with the curriculum.
• Assist the class teacher with classroom management, preparation of materials, and implementation of lesson plans.
• Support positive behaviour by helping manage and improve student conduct.
• Promote inclusion, ensuring every pupil feels valued and supported.
• Monitor student progress and help them achieve their learning targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training).
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Enhanced DBS check registered with the online update service, or willingness to obtain a new one.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
