Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School (Ormskirk)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to join an excellent secondary school in Ormskirk. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, temporary contract with a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students with additional needs, helping them engage with lessons.
• Assist the class teacher with classroom management, preparation of materials, and implementation of lesson plans.
• Support behavioural improvement, ensuring a positive learning atmosphere.
• Promote inclusion so every student feels valued and supported.
• Monitor student progress and help them achieve their learning goals.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children.
• Experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) registered with the online update service.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
