Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Schools (Milton Keynes)

About the role

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join secondary schools in Milton Keynes. The role involves working directly with pupils to help them access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their potential. You will be part of a supportive team that includes teachers, SEND specialists and pastoral staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students across a range of subjects.
• Assist class teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND, through targeted interventions.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm learning environment.
• Prepare learning resources and offer classroom assistance as required.
• Build constructive relationships with students, parents and school staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school setting.
• Caring, patient and encouraging attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Passion for supporting young people to succeed.
