Learning Support Assistant - SEMH Specialist

About the Role

Join a pioneering educational initiative as a Learning Support Assistant for 'The Bridgehouse', our new Resource Specialist provision within Waltham Toll Bar Academy. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and exceptional individual to support children with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and specialized environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support to up to 12 children with EHCPs, focusing on their unique social and emotional development.
• Implement personalized teaching strategies and 1:1 interventions to facilitate academic and personal growth.
• Collaborate closely with the SENDCO, Lead Teacher of SEND, and school leadership to deliver a balanced and adapted curriculum.
• Promote trauma-informed practices and relational learning to foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
• Work alongside external stakeholders, including local authorities and agencies, to ensure holistic student support.
• Contribute actively to the full integration of The Bridgehouse within the wider Academy community.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience working with children presenting diverse learning needs, specifically SEMH or additional needs.
• A deeply empathetic, child-centered approach with a commitment to inclusive education.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of educators and specialists.
• Resilience and the ability to manage complex emotional landscapes in a classroom setting.
