Learning Support Assistant (SEN) – Primary School

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and the wider school team to help pupils with additional needs access the curriculum, build confidence and thrive in the classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual requirements.
- Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils with communication, social skills, emotional regulation and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals.
- Assist with EHCP targets and monitor pupil progress.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Required profile
- A caring, patient and resilient individual.
- Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Proactive and flexible approach to teamwork.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
