Learning Support Assistant – SEND (Permanent, £30k)

About the role

Reed Further Education is seeking a compassionate and organised Programme Support Worker to join a college in Salford. You will support learners with SEND, providing classroom, pastoral and administrative assistance to help them achieve their personal and academic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom and small‑group support to learners with SEND.
• Promote independence, engagement and confidence in learning.
• Support student wellbeing, pastoral needs and safeguarding.
• Assist with EHCP outcomes, progress monitoring and record keeping.
• Support daily campus operations, events and learner activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and programme staff to ensure positive learner outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND.
• Background in education, youth work or a similar support role.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Patient, resilient and passionate about learner success.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to undergo DBS and background checks.
