Learning Support Assistant – SEND Specialist in Primary Schools

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join inclusive primary schools in South Liverpool. You will work directly with pupils who have special educational needs, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help them thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 and small‑group assistance for children with a range of SEN needs.
• Assist in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external specialists.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and other learning challenges.
• Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting.
• Caring, patient and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and ability to follow school procedures.
• Relevant qualification in education or SEN is advantageous but not essential.
