Learning Support Assistant – Specialist SEN Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the inclusion team at a welcoming primary school in Lambeth. The role starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
• Deliver targeted interventions to develop communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Implement EHCP targets and behaviour‑support strategies.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and promote independence.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, class teachers and external professionals.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting.
• Confidence working with pupils who have autism, ADHD and communication needs.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative inclusion team.
