Learning Support Assistant – Support Children & Young People

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join schools across Leeds and West Yorkshire. This role offers the chance to work with children of various ages, from early years to Year 6, as well as in special‑needs settings.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils in classroom activities and individual learning tasks.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Provide targeted help for learners with autism, behavioural, physical or learning needs.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in school routines, including breaks and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting children and young people.
• Willingness to work across different age groups and settings.
• Reliable, energetic and able to build relationships with staff and learners.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo DBS checks.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Basic organisational skills for classroom support.
