Learning Support Assistant – Term‑time role in Crawley

About the role

Join a vibrant 11‑18 school in Crawley as a Learning Support Assistant. You will work alongside the Director of Learning – SEND and subject teachers to help students succeed both in class and in small‑group settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the education and social development of students under guidance of senior staff.
• Deliver planned learning programmes to individuals or small groups.
• Provide personal care (mobility, toileting) and accompany students on out‑of‑school activities.
• Collaborate with educational psychologists, speech‑language therapists and other professionals.
• Support students with assignments, act as reader/scribe for access tests.
• Maintain student records and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Help enforce school policies and support a safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
• Ability to encourage student independence.
• Broad general education with at least a C grade in GCSE English, Mathematics and Science (or equivalent).
• Basic ICT skills to enhance learning.
• Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to seek advice.
• Commitment to professional development.
