Lecturer – Electrical Installation

About the role

South Thames College is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join its Faculty on a permanent part‑time basis (0.7 FTE) from August 2026. You will deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment to further education students and support curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lectures, practical sessions and field work in Electrical Installation.
• Set, mark and provide feedback on coursework and assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide tutorial support.
• Engage with employers to ensure curriculum relevance and develop industry links.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of teaching methods and assessment strategies.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
• Current Electrical Installation qualification.
• Recent UK teaching experience in Electrical Installation at an FE college.
• Strong classroom management and ability to motivate diverse learners.
• Understanding of FE curriculum frameworks and quality standards.

Required skills

• Electrical Installation expertise.
• Knowledge of the 18th Edition (BS 7671) wiring regulations.
• Holding a JIB ECS Card (Site Technician status) is desirable.
